Dozens of protesters have taken to the streets of Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, attempting to march on a police station which was seized by armed men over the weekend.
The violent clashes have taken place on Wednesday, July 20, after opposition members failed to comply with police warnings not to proceed with the anti-government march.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has reported that scores of people, including police officers, were badly injuried as a result of the clashes.

According to local media, police used tear gas and smoke bombs after protesters started throwing stones at them. Eyewitnesses also reported the shooting.
